Who we are

RegionaLink is a service operated by Aaron Gribben (ABN 86 927 801 601), a sole trader based in New South Wales, Australia. In this Privacy Policy, "RegionaLink", "we", "us" and "our" refer to that business. RegionaLink operates regionalink.com.au, a marketplace that connects working holiday makers with regional Australian employers.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

Everyone with an account: email and password (passwords stored hashed by our auth provider — we never see or store your actual password); account type (worker or employer) and activity on the platform (jobs posted, interest registered, purchases made).

Sign in with Google: you can create an account or sign in using Google. If you do, Google shares only your name and email address with RegionaLink. No password is created, stored or seen by RegionaLink for these accounts. All other information we hold about you — such as your phone number, ABN, job listings and worker profile details — is still collected directly through RegionaLink, not from Google.

Workers: name, nationality, age and visa type (e.g. Working Holiday visa subclass 417 or 462); skills, bio, current location, availability date, willingness to relocate; phone number if provided; resume/CV if uploaded.

Employers: business name, ABN, industry, region, website, business description; a contact email for receiving worker interest.

Payments: processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment, plan/purchase type, and a customer reference. We never see or store your card details.

Technical information: standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages viewed) used to keep the service secure and working.

How we use your information

To run the marketplace (showing jobs to workers, worker profiles to employers, and connecting the two when there's interest); to verify employers by checking the ABN against the Australian Business Register; to send transactional emails (e.g. letting an employer know a worker registered interest, or confirming your interest was registered); to process payments and manage subscriptions, passes, unlocks and boosts; to keep the platform secure and improve the service. We do not sell your personal information and do not use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share your information with

Connecting workers with employers is the purpose of RegionaLink and involves sharing worker information with employers in specific, controlled ways.

Employers browse anonymised profiles showing nationality, age, visa type, skills, bio, location and availability — but not your name, contact details or resume. Your name and contact details, and your resume, are only disclosed to an employer in the specific situations set out below.

Your consent to us sharing your details

If you create a worker profile, you consent to RegionaLink disclosing your information to a verified employer as follows:

(a) When you register interest in an employer's job listing, that employer receives your name and contact details (email address, and phone number if you provided one) so they can contact you. Your resume is not shared at this step — an employer sees your resume only if they unlock it (see below).

(b) When an employer unlocks your profile — either by paying a one-off fee or using an unlock included in their plan — that employer receives your name, contact details and your resume (if you uploaded one), so they can approach you directly.

We do not disclose your details to anyone other than the employer in these situations. We do not sell your personal information and we do not supply it for marketing purposes.

You can withdraw this consent at any time by setting your profile to inactive, removing your resume, or deleting your account — though we cannot recall details that have already been disclosed to an employer.

Service providers we use: Supabase (database, authentication and file storage, hosted in Sydney, Australia); Stripe (payment processing); Resend (transactional email); Lovable (website hosting); the Australian Business Register (ABN verification).

Overseas disclosure: our database and resume storage are hosted in Australia. Some providers (such as Stripe and Resend) may process limited information — such as your email or payment details — on servers outside Australia, including the United States.

Legal requirements: we may disclose information where required or authorised by law.

Storage and security

Data hosted with Supabase in the Sydney, Australia region. Resumes are stored in private storage, retrievable only by you or by an employer who has unlocked your profile, and only via short-lived, time-limited links. Database access controls restrict what each user can see. No online service can guarantee absolute security — please use a strong, unique password.

Data breaches

If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will assess it promptly and, where required, notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active, and afterwards only as needed for legal, accounting or dispute-resolution purposes (e.g. payment records). Uploading a new resume permanently replaces and deletes the previous file. To delete your account and personal information, email regionalink@gmail.com.

Your rights

Access and correction: view and edit most of your information in your profile; for anything else, email us. Complaints: contact us first at regionalink@gmail.com; if unsatisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and make the site work. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Age

RegionaLink is for people aged 18 and over, consistent with Working Holiday visa requirements. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

We may update this policy; we'll post the updated version here with a new effective date and flag material changes.
